It’s So Important To Have A Mentor In Marketing

April 9th, 2009 · Important Stuff

mentor When you decide to take the Internet Marketing world by storm you have no idea where to start. The beginning is often scary. You do a search online for ‘how to make money online’ and you come across all the many different ways to do it.

It can be all too difficult to  find the good through all the bad out there!

You’ll probably come across ebook after ebook promising you the world - You believe all the promises that you’ll able to quit your day job in no time.

As a new Internet Marketer you’ll often fall into the trap of buying ebook after ebook all promising you the same thing over and over.

Before you know it you run into more problems. You are told that you need to build web sites so you need to buy another ebook to learn that. After that ebook you go back to the first ebook which now tells you about a blog you need to build. After another ebook and another week of not getting very far you are almost ready to give up.

So far you are spending loads of money and not really making any money back.

You just aren’t sure where you are going wrong. You are trying to follow the ebooks.  You are hitting a wall and not really sure why. What is happening? You are pulling your hair out and still not making any money online.

You eventually run across a product offering mentoring. Well that sounds cool. A professional will hold you buy the hand and show you the way.

At this point you realise that maybe you should have started with mentoring instead of all the ebooks.Probably a good idea! Oh well at least you’ve found mentoring sooner than later. Hopefully before the next credit card bill comes!

Now after all the information over load from all them ebooks telling you to do this and that all you really needed was someone that has been there and is now willing to teach you the way.

No one can digest everything in one ebook. That’s where mentoring is different.  Not only will you see the steps to take, but you will see which ones work in step with each other. Consecutive moves made at the same time will be something most ebooks won’t teach you. Along with other things that might combine two or three things from different ebooks that you have.

After all this mind blowing information you will realise a coach is the best way to go. I wish I had found a good mentor at the beginning instead of trying to teach myself.

If you want to build a good solid online business instead of jumping from one hyphy method to another you really need to choose a good mentor. They will hold your hand and guide you on the journey. If you go wrong they can put you back on track. They will also motivate you so you don’t get lazy and give up.

Two great mentors I have worked with are Lee McIntyre and John Thornhill.

Now don’t fall into the trap of buying everything that comes your way. Save your money and find a good mentor.

Use a Planner and Increase Productivity

March 29th, 2009 · Increase Productivity

planne You need to use a  day to day planner or a simple To Do List to increase your productivity. Everyone does. Simple thing to have , yet so many don’t. Why is that?

It is so easy to get distracted and a simple planner will help you get back on track. Set yourself daily goals and aim to hit them.

Each day your planner should be filled with things to do  and achieve.

A planner will help you reach those goals and stay real productive.

Get organized. The  killer of all business plans is dis-organization. If you start getting your business organized you will find your entire life getting that way - Disorganized.!!

It’s much simpler to start this way than to do it later on when your desk is piled high with books, files and little post it notes.

Set your schedule on paper. This will help you plan out your day, week , month even the year. Write down meetings, time frames for work, bills that need to be paid. don’t forget important dates, holidays, anniversaries, birthdays. Do not forget your anniversary. No matter how busy you are that is not the day to overlook. Trust me on that one.  Get into the habbit now and you’ll be really successful.

Give your self time to get work done. If you work from home you will find that the hours you work also are filled with distractions. Allow time for those little interruptions that happen. But if you are organized you will find that you won’t have to work seven days a week , 20 hours a day. You will get more done if you have a list and make a plan.

Get serious about opening your planner everyday  in fact look a day or two in advance. This way you will always know if a meeting is something that you can schedule to be a lunch meeting instead of at an office.

The only way to keep your business and personal life organized is with a planner or a big calendar. set aside time to fill it out and use it. Life will move along smoother for you if you do.

Sales Page Copywriting - Tell a Story

March 16th, 2009 · Free Stuff, Improve Sales, Sales Copy

book When it comes to writing sales pages you really have to keep the readers interested. One of the best ways to do this is by telling a story.

We’ve all grown up with stories and most of our lives revolve around them. You probably read newspapers, watch the telly and tell you friends stories each and every day.

If you can get the reader involved in a story rather than a hard sell you will find your sales page conversions go through the roof. It is so much easier to understand something whilst being told a story. You can relate to the story and become emotionally involved.

Remember back at school sitting down listening to the teacher read you stories and how much you concentrated and wanted to hear the happy ending. Well this is the same. Play on these emotions. Tell a story that makes the reader want to find out that happy ending.

There is a great copywriter called Vin Montello who has been labeled as “The Storyteller Seller.” Most of his clients have seen double digit conversions. In some cases converting 32%… 53%… 63%. He really knows how this story telling works!

These are crazy conversions and can really change your sales. Just a 1% increase in sales conversions can be a massive increase in sales so take this very seriously.

Vin Montello has a free guide available called “Seven Story Secrets That Skyrocket Sales” (You don’t need to opt in or anything like that, Just right click and choose Save As)

He really knows how to tell stories and this is someting you need to see. I don’t benefit by sending him an extra traffic. To be honest he doesn’t even need to extra work. He’s always fully booked up. I’m sharing this great report with you so you benefit and see those conversions go up!

What Makes A Good Niche

March 9th, 2009 · Niche Marketing

manpc A lot of marketers mention getting into niches that you are passionate about or know a lot about. Well this isn’t always true. As an Internet Marketer you want to get into a niche that has proven itself as a money maker.

You need to be able to access the potential customers and have plenty of products you can sell to them. Here are a few rules I go by when selecting a niche.

1. Are there enough buyers in the market you can sell to over and over again.

You need a good amount of buyers/people interested in your products. It’s no good only having a group of 10 people to market to. You need to be finding forums with masses of members and plenty of buzz and activity.

2. Are the potential customers easily reachable.

You need to be able to reach these potential customers via Forums, Article Marketing, etc. I always remember a good saying “Go stand in front of the traffic”. This means go and find out where the traffic hangs out. In my Niche the warrior forum hosts a good number of my potential customers. You need to be able to grab the traffic easily, otherwise you’ll spend all you days searching for targetted traffic.!!

3. Will they buy what you have to offer.

You need to see what is being sold to your customers. Go check out product reviews and what the Guru’s in the niche are selling. Bear in mind the guru’s have normally done all the ground work and market research. Go check sites such as Clickbank and check out the stats. Is the product converting well?

4. Is there plenty of competition.

If there is plenty of competition then you know there is a lot of money being made. You really need to home into these niches. Competition is good!! Very Good..!! You can always grab a share of the profits.

5. Are there plenty of problems within the niche.

If you find plenty of problems within the niche you will find it easy to find plenty of products to create or promote. The more problems the more content you can create for your blogs, articles, products, etc You will find it so much easier once you know there are plenty of questions and problems within a niche.

6. Are there plenty of searches on the Search engines.

This is an easy one. Go and check Google and see how many people are searching the Internet for the keywords matching your niche. Here’s a great tool for finding out keywords - Google Keyword Tool

Free Training - Sales Page Copywriting Video Course

March 8th, 2009 · Free Stuff, Sales Copy

handSales Page Copywriting can be a very difficult task if you don’t know what you are doing. It can also be one of the main expenses when it comes to putting together any of your products. Without a good quality sales page your products won’t sell as successfully as they should.

You need to be able to sell yourself and your product in such away through your sales copy.

Professional Copywriters charge an absolute fortune so it isn’t always easy on the pocket. Especially if it’s your first product and you’re not already making thousands of dollars a month to justify the cost.

The Warrior forum sometimes has new copywriters offering their services quite cheaply. Worth checking out if you really don’t want to do the work yourself.

If you want to do your sales page yourself then check out this free course by a copywriter called Brian McElroy. I really like this guy and I have been involved with some of his coaching products. I can vouch for him. He doesn’t want an email address or anything like that.

Go check out this free course before he changes his mind and takes it down.
